Leading gift experience website Wish.co.uk, widely known for their zombie shopping mall experience, have today revealed that instead of shooting down zombies they have shot down the cloud and moved back to a dedicated server from Memset.

Wish.co.uk sells life-changing experience days, and is best known for experiences like Zombie Shopping Mall, Zombie Boot Camp and SWAT training.  The site has been growing steadily to meet the demand for unique gift experiences.

Richard Kershaw, Co-Founder of Wish.co.uk said, “We launched Wish.co.uk on cloud hosting from another provider, but it simply wasn't up to the job. Strong growth, huge press coverage and tweets from celebrities like Stephen Fry meant our hosting couldn't handle our traffic.”

Unable to handle the spikes in traffic, resulting in lost sales, Wish.co.uk contacted Memset given their roster of high profile ecommerce clients such as Debenhams, Tastecard and many others.

Memset MD, Kate Craig-Wood, said: “A lot of customers come to us wanting cloud, but end up selecting a dedicated server for their business.  Certainly in the case of Wish.co.uk, a dedicated server was an obvious fit with their load levels, bandwidth requirements and guaranteed disk space.”

Kershaw continues: “For a business looking for reliability, I'd stick with dedicated servers. We have full control of our hosting with no unpleasant billing surprises at the end of the month. Our setup with Memset gives us the flexibility and scalability to meet peaks of traffic without the need to invest in more servers.”
