Our in-house, proactive monitoring service. We pride ourselves on detecting and fixing a problem before our client or their users ever notice there was one.
Port Patrol™ monitoring is "proactive" since we do not simply send you an email when something fails. In the first instance, we will attempt to reboot your server after which we are paged directly and actively investigate & resolve the issue.
We currently offer three levels of server monitoring:
- Port Patrol ™ Basic
- Port Patrol ™ Advanced Self-monitored
- Port Patrol ™ Advanced Memset-monitored
Port Patrol™ Basic Monitoring
We will check that your server is accessible from outside the data centre by pinging it. If the server becomes unavailable for more than 10 minutes we will attempt to reboot the server. Beyond that any assistance we render will be determined by your support level. Basic monitoring is included with all servers and Cloud VPS.
On fully Dedicated Servers, basic monitoring includes RAID monitoring. This means that Memset is alerted if there is a problem with the RAID array, and can take suitable action, for example replacing a faulty disk.
Port Patrol™ Advanced Monitoring
This includes basic monitoring, but in addition we will monitor the following:
- Up to 5 services/ports (e.g. SSH, HTTP, POP3, SMTP, MySQL) on the server.
- Load monitoring.
- Disk space usage.
Port Patrol™ Advanced monitoring is 24/7, and you will be able to configure email and SMS alerts to notify you of any problems. If you have Port Patrol™ Advanced Memset®-monitored, you can configure alerts to go directly to a Memset® on call systems administrator.
