Guildford, Surrey – 3 September 2012 – Award-winning British SME, Memset® has today been revealed as finalists in two categories at the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards. Memset has been shortlisted for Small Supplier or VAR of the Year, the award the company won last year and Best Big Data Project of the Year.

The UK IT Industry Awards, presented by the British Computer Society (BCS), the Chartered Institute for IT, in association with Computing magazine, represent the benchmark for excellence for the entire IT profession, showcasing best practice and innovation.

Kate Craig-Wood, MD of Memset, said: “I am delighted that the hard work and commitment of our team has been recognised in these prestigious industry awards."

“I am especially pleased with our nomination for Big Data Project of the Year – we hope to demystify the hype over big data and prove unless you're operating at mega-scale like Amazon, Google, LinkedIn or perhaps a retail bank, then you don’t need to spend a lot of money on big data,” concluded Craig-Wood.

Stuart Sumner, Deputy Editor of Computing magazine, said: “With the quality and quantity of entries increasing again this year, the judging panel had a particularly tough time to decide the finalists and those of you that have made the shortlist should be immensely proud of your achievements.”

Memset find out if they have been lucky enough to win both categories at the spectacular award ceremony taking place on Wednesday 14th November at the Battersea Park Events Arena in London.
