Prolog Print Media, who provides software independent epayslip services to many of the UK’s leading businesses, have recently outsourced their IT infrastructure requirements to Memset to enhance the reliability of the service uptime at critical periods, such as payroll period ends.

Prior to the move, Prolog Print Media’s epayslips were hosted internally at their secure ISO 27001 approved production facility. However, additional IT resource were having to be supplied to ensure the client sites operated effectively, especially through peak load periods.

Prolog Print Media currently provides clients with an epayslip solution accessed by around 200,000 employees. All data resides in the UK but can be accessed by employees working around the globe via any web-enabled device 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Memset has provided Prolog Print Media with 6 dedicated servers to host their epayslip service. One of the dedicated servers acts as a front-end proxy, which then directs the request to the relevant server where multiple clients are hosted across the remaining 5 dedicated machines, further adding to the reliability of the service.

Memset was a good fit for Prolog Print Media as they are one of only a handful of hosting providers with ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications who could deliver the fully secured, encrypted service required.  In addition, it was vital to Prolog Print Media that all data remained in the EU, so a US-based provider wasn’t an option.

Glyn King, Managing Director of Prolog Print Media, said: “Right now many companies are fundamentally changing their sourcing models to develop a smarter approach. Hosting is not our core business, and having to divert valuable development resource to ensuring IT systems were running correctly was ineffective and had a knock-on effect throughout the business, in particular, delaying the implementation of new clients.”

“Outsourcing our IT infrastructure to Memset has provided us with the capacity to grow in a way that would not have been possible using in-house resources. In one month we have seen a doubling in the release of new client sites,” concluded King.
