Memset, the award-winning dedicated IT hosting company, is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted as a finalist for two categories in the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards 2009.

The awards merges the longstanding Computing Awards for Excellence and the BCS IT Industry Awards to create a platform for the entire UK IT profession to showcase and celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence.

Kate Craig-Wood, Co-Founder and MD of the IT hosting company has been shortlisted for “IT Leader of the Year”, and Memset is one of 10 companies shortlisted in the "Best Small IT Supplier of the Year" category, recognising the delivery of IT excellence and customer satisfaction across the organisation during the past 12 months.

"I am thrilled to learn that we have been shortlisted for two categories at these prestigious awards.  I’m particularly pleased for our team who continue to punch well above their weight in terms of technology innovation and superior customer service," said Kate Craig-Wood, MD of Memset.

Kate’s nomination for the prestigious title of “IT Leader of the Year”, sponsored by Qedis comes hot on the heels of her being included in Management Today’s Top 35 Women Under 35.  Not only has she grown a business from inception, without external funding, into one of the UK’s leading IT companies, but Memset’s products offer excellent quality and value.  Their virtual machines are currently the cheapest in Britain and have been voted Best Web Host for three years running by PC Pro magazine.

David Clarke, BCS chief executive, says: "I’m particularly pleased to see so many entries in these difficult economic conditions; it reinforces the importance of IT in delivering business and social benefit. Our Awards are central to our drive to create the IT profession and the finalists can be proud of their achievements."

The BCS and Computing will announce the winners of this year’s UK IT Industry Awards at the Battersea Park Events Arena on 12 November 2009. To view a list of all finalists, visit
