Two G-Cloud providers have teamed up to deliver an agile hosted software solution for The Cabinet Office.  Official IaaS/PaaS supplier, Memset have provided the infrastructure for INOVEM’s cloud collaboration and consultation solutions that are quickly being adopted by public sector clients via the Government’s CloudStore.

Exhibiting in the G-Cloud zone at Civil Service Live 2012, Peter Jackson, MD of INOVEM said: “We’re delighted to team up with Memset, another SME and approved G-Cloud supplier. Memset will be providing us with affordable IL2 hosting (at IL0 prices) enabling us to pass these savings onto our public sector clients and making INOVEM’s hosted software solutions even more competitive and better value for money.”

One of the aims of the G-Cloud project has been to enable more SMEs to do business with the government, and this partnership demonstrates that the public sector no longer needs to work with big service integrators.

Kate Craig-Wood, MD of Memset, said: “As IT SMEs we have different, yet complementary, sets of capabilities and expertise. By teaming up as we have with INOVEM we are able to deliver top-quality, high-value services to government at a fraction of what they are used to paying.”

“I hope to see more G-Cloud SME suppliers working together like we are so that we have plenty of examples to show of good public sector IT services functioning without a large systems integrator bloating the costs. This approach has the potential to be enormously transformative and disruptive to the status quo,” said Craig-Wood.

Memset has provided a number of dedicated servers, virtual machines (Miniserver VM®s) and cloud storage solutions to INOVEM, who initially used the Government CloudStore themselves to shortlist suitable IaaS ‘partners’.  The improved site security, resilience and server speed were a compelling reason for Memset to be selected, which now benefit all of INOVEM’s existing clients.

INOVEM have also recently launched a new public pay-as-you-go secure cloud collaboration service provided on scalable hosting infrastructure from Memset.
