Python Software Developer

Principal tasks
You will have the opportunity to work on a number of exciting new projects and help with the maintenance of many of the existing systems.
You will join a small development team, reporting directly to the technical director. As such, you should be happy working on your own without excessive supervision.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have
- At a minimum, a 2.1 degree in science, technology, engineering or maths
- Programming experience
- Fluent Python
Whilst not essential, the ideal Python Software Developer will have skills in the following: Django, SQL, Linux, HTML, CSS, JQuery and/or SVN.
Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate will undergo a standard CRB check, as well as intelligence and personality testing.

Summary
A fast growing IT hosting company is looking for an enthusiastic 16 - 24 year old candidate to join them as an Apprentice Systems Administrator. The position is linked with the Microsoft Server Apprenticeship. You will be spending one week per month at a Microsoft training centre, in Reading, following a comprehensive course in systems administration. The other three weeks per month will be spent at Memset, in Guildford, working alongside the junior and senior Systems Adminstrators and putting your new skills into practice. Initially you will be involved in asset management and server provisioning, graduating to server installations and customer support as your knowledge develops. You will also have the opportunity to visit Memset's datacentres and assist with server rack wiring and maintenance.
Qualifications
On successful completion of the 10 month apprenticeship you will receive two MTA qualifications and an MCP - Microsoft Server 2008 qualification, and could be offered a permanent position with Memset.
Requirements
- 16 - 24 years old
- Minimum of 5 grades A* - C at GCSE
- Interest in IT
- Not a graduate or having already achieved an Advanced Apprenticeship

Summary

We are growing rapidly and now have a need for a part time Web Designer / Graphic Designer to join us. Working directly with the Marketing Manager you will be joining a small but dynamic team where you can develop your skills as a designer and make the role your own. Memset has both offline and online content where web skills, as well as strong design skills, will be needed. You will also be working with the developer team to produce outstanding web pages and make alterations to existing content. In conjunction with the Marketing Manager, you can choose which days you would like to work and how to split your hours.
Principal Tasks
Working in a strict deadline driven and fast paced environment your duties as a Web Designer / Graphic Designer will include:
- Designing and building templates for company web pages
- Designing company literature and marketing collateral
- Producing new ideas for marketing projects
Requirements
To be considered for this role, we would like someone with:
- Good working knowledge of HTML, CSS and building standards compliant websites and HTML emails
- Experience of using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience of SEO and Social Media would be advantageous
- Experience with version control would be useful
- Experience with mobile design would also be useful
You will be keen to work in a busy environment and eager to learn new skills.

Junior Systems Administrator

An excellent environment for a budding systems administrator to develop their skills and gain experience with many new technologies. We manage both Linux and Windows environments, so experience with both is preferred.
Principal Tasks
- Providing email and phone based technical support to direct customers
- Provisioning and setup of servers and network equipment
- Assest management
- 24/7 on call one week in five (with compensation)
- Troubleshooting hardware/network/software problems and liaising with vendors
- 37.5 hours per week (flexitime)
Requirements
- Permanent right to work in the UK
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking and internet protocols
- Systems administration skills - Windows/Linux or both (server setup and configuration)
- Good problem solving abilities
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Relevant qualifications e.g. MCSE/LPI/RHCT/RHCE would be welcome
- Full UK driving license desirable
Applicants should have a good degree in a science, maths, engineering or technology degree, or be able to demonstrate relevant IT experience.
