Memset has won the Innovation in Business award in the Surrey Business Awards 2006/07. The award recognises the significant development of virtual dedicated servers by Memset. Launched in the latter part of 2006, a new version of Memset's virtual machine created a new generation of virtual dedicated servers. The new machine is able to provide users with all the benefits of a dedicated server but at a fraction of the cost. It was the culmination of three years of progressive development of its Miniserver™ machine, which has made Memset a leading provider of hosting solutions for business users.
Over 300 people attended the glittering awards ceremony at Mercedes Benz World in Weybridge on 8 February 2007. Eagle radio presenter, Peter Gordon, handed the award trophy to Memset's managing director, Kate Craig-Wood, "I am absolutely delighted to receive this award. We strive to take an innovative approach in everything we do at Memset and recognition of that will mean an enormous amount to the team."
As well as pioneering products, Memset also has innovative business systems, including automated billing and administration systems. All are developed in-house. It was also the first UK Web hosting company to become carbon neutral in August 2006.
The Surrey Business award for Business Innovation follows Memset recently being voted Best Web Host of the Year in the highly acclaimed PC Pro Service and Reliability awards. "Coming hot on the heels of being voted the UK's best Web host, this award will really put us on a high for the year", said Craig-Wood.
