A firewall is the first level of protection for a server as it ensures that the incoming and outgoing network traffic is locked down to permitted ports, protocols and IP addresses. An external firewall such as the Memset Packet Patrol firewall provides an additional level of security as it cannot be modified from within the server. This ensuring that the configured network policies cannot be altered by someone who has access to the server but does not have authority to modify the firewall.
This section provides information on how to use and configure the Memset Packet Patrol firewall from the Memset control panel.
